MoneySavvy - The Ultimate Portfolio Tracking Tool for Canadians

The story so far...

Hi, I'm Supreet, the founder of MoneySavvy. 👋

I built MoneySavvy, a free portfolio tracking tool for Canadians, because I was tired of manually tracking my investments on spreadsheets. There are existing tools on the market but I quickly found out that they were unreliable, often experiencing issues with broken banking connections. I couldn't justify paying a monthly fee for a tool that didn't work.

I knew there had to be a better way to stay on top of my finances, so I built MoneySavvy for myself over the weekends. After talking to a few friends and family, I realized that this tool needs to be shared so we can all build wealth and make our money work for us.

Why support MoneySavvy?

Privacy

I hate giving my account credentials to third-party services, especially when it comes to my banking and brokerage accounts. That's why MoneySavvy doesn't require you to share your credentials with us. Instead, we focus on making it easy for you to upload your transactions manually and automate the system whenever we can. Heck, you don't even need to tell us your name. 😄

Usability

A lot of the existing portfolio tracking tools are difficult to use and have a steep learning curve. I wanted to build a tool that was easy to use and didn't require a lot of technical knowledge to operate. That's why I built MoneySavvy with a simple, intuitive interface that anyone can use. 😍

Built for Canadians

One way MoneySavvy is different from other portfolio tracking tools is that it has features tailored to the Canadian market and as a result, we can provide recommendations and insights that are relevant to people living in Canada. For example, we can provide personalized recommendations on whether you should be investing in TFSA or RRSP or putting your money in a GIC. 🇨🇦

Support independent developers

I'm a full-time software engineer with over seven years of experience working in FinTech companies. I love programming and MoneySavvy is a way for me to give back to the community, learn something new every day as well as showcase my skills. Since I don't have to answer to any investors, my focus is on building an affordable application that is easy to use and provides value to the community instead of extracting every last dollar from the users.

If you like MoneySavvy, please consider supporting me by sharing the tool with your friends and family. You can also support me by buying me a coffee. 🙏
